OPTIMIST, LASER
and FEVA dinghies are utilised for our Junior programme operating out of Northside
Sailing School at Middle harbour. Different sized sails are available to
suit the conditions and the age of the crews. |
 |
The mainstay
of our training and racing programme, and most school sailing, is the
PUFFIN PACER 2-person sailing dinghy. Redlands owns 6 boats fitted with full spinnaker gear.
PACERS are also used for our TEAM RACING squad training in Term 1 of each
year. |
 |
Redlands is
the NSW home base for the International Cadet class, using it as an
intermediate race training boat. 12 of these superb little sailing craft
have been purchased to train our more advanced smaller and younger sailors
in the additional skills skills of spinnaker work, race tactics and
regatta participation. Redlands sailors form the basis of the NSW team to
compete annually in the Australian Championships and interstate
competition. |
 |
Redlands utilises
the International Youth training class, the 29er, for High Performance training. The
Australian designed 29er has proven a huge success, offering all the attributes of speed,
excitement, trapeze work, asymetrical spinnakers and 'apparent wind' sailing. |
